Campaign: Talk to Kids about Drugs & Alcohol

“Talk to your kids about drugs and alcohol—your voice matters most to them.”

It can be difficult for parents to talk with their kids about the dangers of alcohol and drug use because they often feel like they don’t want to listen. But they do.

This campaign aimed to encourage parents to start the conversation through reinforcing five primary messages:

  1. Establishing a safe, honest conversation with your kids about drugs & alcohol shows them you care about them.
  2. The effects of drugs & alcohol are especially harmful to children and teens because their brains are still developing.
  3. It’s never too early to talk to them. They are exposed to many voices and messages about drugs & alcohol from a young age.
  4. Setting clear boundaries helps your kids understand that drugs & alcohol are harmful.
  5. If you have responsible views and behaviors towards drugs & alcohol, your kids will too.

We built ads that were designed to elicit a positive emotional response in parents and empowered them to talk to their kids. We utilized a variety of media formats, including traditional radio and TV, internet radio and video, and social media & internet display placements. Both English and Spanish versions were created for most forms of media.
